For a Hollow Santa: Trim away the outer frame of the mold so the two halves clamp closely.Paint or decorate the inside of the mold if desired (see tips below). Fill one side with melted chocolate, then place the second half on top and secure with binder clips (sold separately). Rotate and gently tap the mold so the chocolate spreads evenly. Place in the refrigerator for 1–2 minutes, then flip. Repeat until coated evenly. Let set completely, then carefully release your Santa. For a Solid Santa: Fill both halves separately and chill until firm. Once at room temperature, spread melted chocolate along the flat edges and press the halves together until set. Decorating Tips Paint details first: Use a piping bag with melted Merckens colored chocolate melts to fill in Santa’s coat, belt, or face details. Use a candy paint brush to paint finer details by hand. Cool before filling: Place the decorated mold in the refrigerator before pouring the solid fill chocolate on top. This helps prevent the colors from bleeding into the base chocolate. Finish with shine: For added holiday sparkle, dust with edible luster dust once set. Inspiration Your finished Santa makes a show-stopping holiday centerpiece, a charming display for dessert tables, or a thoughtful homemade gift. Package him in an 8″ × 3″ × 15″ cello bag and tie with ribbon for a festive presentation. How to Care for Chocolate Molds Hand wash or rinse in warm (not hot) water and dry thoroughly before storing.
