377 FRPE Blue Fire Retardant Tape

377 FRPE Blue Fire Retardant Tape An FR containment system is only as compliant as its weakest point — and that point is usually the tape. 377 FRPE Blue Fire Retardant Tape is a 7.2 mil polyethylene film tape engineered for seaming, sealing, patching, and repairing fire-retardant plastic sheeting in construction, remediation, marine, and industrial environments. It meets NFPA 701 flame retardant standards and delivers the high-tack adhesion, solvent resistance, and consistent seal that contractors need to keep the entire containment system code-ready. Available in 4″ x 180’ rolls. 💡 Designed to keep your entire installation compliant. Sealing NFPA 701-rated sheeting with non-FR tape creates a non-rated joint at every seam. 377 FRPE carries the same NFPA 701 compliance as the sheeting it joins — so the full containment surface, field material and seams alike, stays within the FR standard. Features and Benefits Polyethylene Film Backing The blue polyethylene film backing delivers durability, chemical resistance, and conformability in a single substrate. PE film holds up against solvents, cleaners, and jobsite moisture — critical in remediation, manufacturing, and marine environments where adhesive failure from chemical exposure is a real risk. The low elongation keeps the tape from stretching during application, so seams stay consistent and gap-free. A pinked/serrated edge option supports clean hand tearability without scissors or a utility blade. High-Tack Synthetic Rubber Adhesive The synthetic rubber adhesive delivers immediate tack on contact and builds shear strength over time. That combination lets crews seam sheeting quickly without waiting for adhesive activation. The adhesive is also repositionable — installers can adjust placement before committing — and it removes cleanly from many surfaces. In occupied facilities and healthcare environments where residue-free removal matters at project close-out, that characteristic eliminates a common cleanup headache. NFPA 701 Flame Retardant Performance 377 FRPE meets NFPA 701 standards — the benchmark test protocol for flame resistance in films, textiles, and coated fabrics used in construction and occupancy environments. Materials that meet NFPA 701 self-extinguish when the ignition source is removed rather than continuing to propagate flame. Because fire marshals and building inspectors evaluate the full containment system — not just the sheeting — specifying an NFPA 701-compliant tape throughout the installation is the only way to ensure every seam stays within the rated standard. 🌱 Ideal for: General contractors building fire-safe containment enclosures, asbestos and mold remediation professionals, marine and shipyard maintenance crews, healthcare facility renovation teams, and industrial facility managers where NFPA 701-rated materials are specified throughout. Why NFPA 701 Compliance Matters on Every Jobsite NFPA 701 is the National Fire Protection Association’s test standard for the flame resistance of films, textiles, and coated fabrics used in construction, temporary structures, and occupancy environments. A product that passes NFPA 701 self-extinguishes after the ignition source is removed, rather than continuing to propagate flame or producing significant flaming drips. That behavior is what fire marshals and inspectors verify when reviewing containment installations in occupied or regulated facilities. The compliance gap most contractors miss: a code-compliant containment system requires compliant materials at every seam, not just in the field. Non-FR tape introduces an unrated joint into the system. Even when the sheeting itself carries NFPA 701 certification, a non-FR seam can cause an inspection to fail — or, in a worst-case event, allow flame to travel through containment rather than self-extinguish at the barrier. 377 FRPE eliminates that risk by extending NFPA 701 compliance from the sheeting to every seam and patch. The same logic applies in marine and shipyard environments, where fire safety requirements for repair and containment operations are enforced by vessel operators and regulatory bodies. Specifying FR materials throughout — including the tape — supports compliance and reduces liability wherever a fire marshal, safety officer, or inspector may review the system. Feature Benefit Polyethylene Film Backing Resists solvents, moisture, and jobsite chemicals without cracking or softening — so adhesion holds in demanding environments. High-Tack Synthetic Rubber Adhesive Bonds immediately on contact, builds shear strength over time, and removes cleanly — reducing adhesive residue risk in occupied facilities. Low Elongation (85%) Keeps seams consistent and gap-free across patches and overlaps without stretch distortion that creates weak points. NFPA 701 Flame Retardant Extends FR compliance from the sheeting to the seam — so the entire installation passes inspection, not just the field material. 4″ x 180’ Roll Format Wider 4″ coverage per pass reduces labor time on large seaming and patching jobs compared to narrower tapes. Repositionable Adhesive Allows position corrections before final placement — no wasted material, no cleanup, no residue on sensitive surfaces. ⚠️ Non-FR tape creates a non-compliant seam. Fire marshals inspect the full containment system — not just the sheeting. Specifying 377 FRPE across all seams, patches, and repairs keeps every point of the installation within the NFPA 701 standard and avoids the cost of retrofitting non-compliant tape mid-project. Common Applications 377 FRPE Blue Fire Retardant Tape is the right choice wherever NFPA 701-compliant seaming, patching, or repair is required on FR plastic sheeting and film materials: Seaming fire-retardant poly sheeting in construction containment enclosures Patching and repairing NFPA 701-rated sheeting on active jobsites Asbestos, lead, and mold remediation containment seaming Marine and shipyard surface protection, containment, and material repair Manufacturing and industrial facility safety barriers and enclosures Healthcare facility renovation and dust containment using FR materials Data center and telecommunications room renovation and temporary containment Sealing FR sheeting around structural elements, equipment, and penetrations Spot repair of damaged sections in installed FR containment sheeting 🌑 Need NFPA 701-rated sheeting to go with it? 6 Mil Tuff-Scrim™ Fire Retardant Reinforced Poly Sheeting is a scrim-reinforced option engineered for high-traffic containment walls and ceilings. NFPA 701 is a flame resistance test standard published by the National Fire Protection Association that applies to films, textiles, and coated fabrics used in construction and occupancy environments. A product that meets NFPA 701 will self-extinguish after the ignition source is removed rather than continuing to propagate flame. For tape, NFPA 701 compliance ensures that seams and patches in a fire-retardant containment system don’t introduce non-rated gaps that can fail a fire marshal inspection. What surfaces does 377 FRPE Blue Fire Retardant Tape bond to? 377 FRPE bonds to a variety of surfaces, including fire-retardant poly sheeting, standard polyethylene film, and steel. For best adhesion, surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dust, debris, and oily residue before application. The synthetic rubber adhesive provides immediate tack on contact and builds a stronger bond over time. How is 377 FRPE Blue Fire Retardant Tape different from the 268FR Black Fire Retardant Tape? Both are NFPA 701-rated fire retardant tapes, but they differ in backing material and application profile. 377 FRPE uses a blue polyethylene film backing with a synthetic rubber adhesive, comes in a 4″ x 180’ roll, and is designed for seaming FR poly sheeting in construction and remediation. The 268FR uses an acrylic-coated cloth backing with a natural rubber adhesive in a 2″ x 100’ roll, and is better suited for HVAC ductwork sealing, bundling, and wrapping applications. Choose based on backing compatibility and the substrate you’re working with. 💡 Not sure which FR tape fits your job?
