Frequently Asked Questions What makes this fire pit different from the standard 36-inch model? The Legacy Fire Pit on Base features an elevated pedestal that creates a distinctive architectural profile while offering the same heavy-duty construction and durability as our traditional fire pits. Will the natural steel rust? The natural carbon steel changes color and develops a weathered patina over time. This is an expected characteristic of raw steel and gives every fire pit a unique finish without compromising its structural integrity. Can this fire pit stay outside year-round? Yes. It is built for year-round outdoor use. The drain hole allows water to escape, helping prevent standing water from collecting in the bowl. Does it require assembly? No. Your fire pit arrives fully assembled and ready to use. What outdoor furniture pairs well with it? The Legacy Fire Pit on Base pairs well with Adirondack chairs, contemporary lounge seating, and Evergreen Patio poly furniture. Care and Maintenance After each use Allow the fire pit to cool completely before handling. Remove excess ash after the fire pit has cooled. Keep the drain and airflow opening clear of ash and debris. For the best burning experience Burn dry, seasoned hardwood. Avoid green or wet wood, which produces excess smoke. Build the fire gradually before adding larger logs. Cleaning and storage No special cleaner or indoor storage is required. Remove ash as needed and wipe away dirt or debris with a dry cloth or brush. Do not paint or coat the fire pit unless you intend to change the natural weathering process. The raw steel and optional steel snuffer lid will continue to change color with exposure to heat and weather. This natural patina is expected and is not considered a defect.
