Practical Execution is part of the Conjugate coaching education pathway developed from the methods used at Westside Barbell. This course focuses on the practical coaching skills required to evaluate and correct the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift in real training environments. This is a self paced course built for coaches and practitioners who want to sharpen their eye, improve technical understanding, and coach lifts with more precision. Self paced course Average completion time of 12 weeks 50+ page coaching manuals per module Practical assignment submission Video call review and feedback included Can be taken independently of Level 1 and Level 3 Who This Course Is For This course is designed for coaches and practitioners who want to improve their ability to evaluate and correct lifts. Strength and conditioning coaches working with athletes Personal trainers who want stronger technical coaching skills Coaches responsible for teaching the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift Athletes who want to better understand how lifts break down and how to fix them Coaches who want a structured way to diagnose weaknesses and select accessory work This course focuses on practical coaching ability. It is built for people who want to improve how they see, analyze, and coach lifts in real training environments. What This Course Is Practical Execution (Level 2) is the technical bridge between understanding the Conjugate system and actually coaching it on the gym floor. You will learn how to observe a lift, diagnose where and why it breaks down, apply the right cue in the moment, and select the right solution to improve performance safely and efficiently. The Manuals Each module includes a comprehensive coaching manual designed to serve as a long term coaching reference. 50+ pages per module Each manual covers: Biomechanics and movement purpose Setup standards and environmental control Technical execution and coaching cues Error detection and correction Weakness identification Accessory selection and programming considerations These manuals are built to be printed, bound, and kept on the gym floor as a working reference for coaches. Key positions, setups, and coaching concepts are reinforced with diagrams and visual breakdowns that support the video instruction. What You’ll Learn The Big Three Technical Breakdown Each module focuses on one of the primary lifts: Squat Bench Press Deadlift You will see how we coach general athletes through setup, positioning, execution, and correction using cues designed to build repeatable technique under load. Weakness Identification You will learn how to analyze each phase of the lift to determine whether the issue comes from poor positioning, loss of tension, bad bar path, or true muscular weakness. This allows you to diagnose the real limitation and apply the correct fix. The Accessory Selection Framework Accessory work should not be random. This course teaches a structured way to select exercises based on the weakness seen in the main lift. Accommodating Resistance Setup You will learn how to properly set up bands and chains, measure band tension, and maintain a consistent training environment. Course Structure The goal of this course is not just knowledge, but the ability to evaluate and correct lifts in real time. Module 1: Bench Press Bench press biomechanics and purpose Setup and positioning Bar path and execution Common technical errors Weakness identification Accessory exercise selection Band and chain setup Module 2: Squat Squat mechanics and movement standards Setup and bracing Execution and correction Common breakdowns and corrections Identifying weaknesses in the squat Accessory selection Module 3: Deadlift Deadlift setup and bar positioning Execution and correction Maintaining position off the floor Common errors and coaching cues Diagnosing sticking points Accessory exercise selection Practical Coaching Assignment Analyze a lift using the framework taught in the course Identify the technical or physical weakness Recommend the appropriate coaching correction Submit for review Coaching Skills You Will Develop Evaluate a lift in real time by identifying technical breakdowns in setup, position, bar path, and tension Separate technical errors from physical weaknesses so the correct solution can be applied Apply clear coaching cues that athletes can execute under load Identify sticking points and limiting muscle groups Select the correct accessory exercises based on the weakness seen in the lift Implement bands and chains correctly to maintain consistent resistance Create repeatable technical standards athletes can follow across training sessions Course Format This course is self paced and can be completed on your schedule. Most coaches complete the course in approximately 12 weeks, but there is no required completion timeline. You can move through the material at the pace that fits your schedule while applying the lessons with your athletes. Assignment Review and Feedback You will complete a practical assignment where you demonstrate your ability to apply the coaching process taught in the course. After submitting your assignment you will schedule a video call to review your work and receive feedback. The review includes: Evaluation of your lift analysis Discussion of your coaching decisions Feedback on improving your coaching process Clarification of the system and its application Verified Competency Each module includes a mandatory exam that must be completed before moving to the next section. This ensures coaches finishing the course understand the principles and can apply them correctly. Can Be Taken Independently Level 2 does not require Level 1 or Level 3. Many coaches take Level 2 specifically to improve their technical coaching ability and their ability to evaluate and correct lifts.
