It is secreted from the glands in the hypopharynx of worker bees, and fed to all larvae in the colony, regardless of gender, for the first few days of life. The worker bees are then fed honey and pollen the rest of their lives. The worker bees lives span about 6 weeks in the summer time. A queen bee is fed royal jelly her entire life, and she lives about 6 years or about 200 times longer than a worker bee! Try one today and eat like a queen, even if you are a king!
