30×36 Heavy Timber Barn Plan

This 30×36 Heavy Timber Barn Home Plan has all the space to shelter your family in comfort! The knee walls framing the second floor ensure there is plenty of headroom throughout most of that level. The classically simple barn shape and the steep 10:12 roof pitch make for a commanding presence.  Queen post trusses on the second floor create lots of opportunities for windows on the gable ends. Overall dimensions 28’-11 ¾” x 34’-11 ¾” from outside to outside of the posts. Designed to accept 6” framing and siding within a 24×36 foundation. Top of girt 12’-9” high means first level ceiling height is almost 12 feet! Top of rafters 28’- 10 ⅝” high 10:12 roof pitch Nine bay design, 1728 square feet with framing and cladding. When you buy this plan, we will include plans for an optional barn design. This means the outside post dimensions are true 24×36, if you don’t need to fit framing and cladding on a 24×36 foundation. Once you make your purchase, you will receive links to download the plan set PDFs.  Each version (home and barn) of the construction sets contain 11 pages of information: 3D drawings, and post , loft and roof plans. There are section and detail drawings with plenty of notes explaining the finer points. The piece drawings have over 30 pages showing you every timber, with all the cuts dimensioned out. Then we include timber and fastener lists so you don’t have to guess what materials to purchase.
