This is a 3 inch patch. This particular version of "Killroy Was Here" is attributed to inspector James J. Kilroy. During WWII as our naval ships were being built James Killroy was assigned to inspect the work. Once inspected he would sign it as “Kilroy we here”. Along the way an anonymous GI added a doodle of a big-nosed man, peering over a wall. After that it spread like wildfire throughout all the services. The " Killroy Was Here", with the big-nosed man, peering over a wall started showing up in impossible locations. It eventually could be found on bombs, Missiles, cartoons and even showed up in the gold vault at Fort Knox. It was a symbol of brotherhood and comradery of the GIs of the time. I thought it would make a great addition to our inventory of Clamper patches. These Clamper items are offered by the Squibob Chapter Store and are for Clamper members and their widders only, so be prepared to prove yourself a Clamper or widder.
