Wild Child - 031 RETIRED - Copper Art Block

"May all your weeds be wildflowers."- Anonymous A big influencer in the road to making it as an artist, a creative, or entrepreneur is the cognizance that in order to make or do anything of value, you must take the obstacles you face in life and turn them into new challenges. Then, you take those new challenges and you create opportunities out of those "what should I do?" moments. This realization and way of operating in life is fundamental to the inspiration for Wild Child. It is about taking what comes to you and either seeing it as a beautiful thing, or turning it into something of beauty. Release Date: July 1, 2009 Retirement Date: January 1, 2019 Collection: Fall 2009 Made by hand with USA-sourced copper, glass enamel, and a custom wood box frame. 5¼" x 8½" x 1¾" - akin to the size of a novel.   What is a Spiritile? Each Houston Llew Spiritile is carefully handmade using a series of intricate stencil techniques. From the beginning, Houston’s vision for his enameled artworks drew from the beauty of simplicity. He sought after an imagistic theme for his work rather than pursuing the abstract often seen in other enameled wall art. The image is just the beginning - each piece is paired with a quote around the sides to create an inspiring story through words and images in glass. Houston believes that meaningful art is about emotion. Thus, every Spiritile created reflects a piece of our story. These icons stretch our memory and bring to mind the people we love, the things we cherish, and the passions we pursue. When collected, Spiritiles become a montage of moments that make us smile, laugh, remember, and dare to dream.
