24×36 Timber Frame Pavilion Plans

This 24×36 timber frame pavilion is a marvel of grace and efficiency! This frame would be perfect for a pavilion or carport or enclosed for a great room or event center. The rafter-based roof system makes raising easy: once the posts and plates are erected, the king post trusses can be assembled and craned into place.  Then connect the ridge segments, the remaining rafters, and braces,  and the raising is complete! The bottom chords and rafters of the trusses sit directly on the posts, creating a beautiful composition with the attached generously sized braces. All of the braces and struts are gently curved, adding to the elegance of this frame. This frame measures 24 feet by 36 feet from outside to outside of the 8×8 posts. The height is almost 21 feet to the top of the king posts and over 10 feet to the top of the eave plate, creating a fantastic volume of space.  There are scarf joints along the eave plates that allow for shorter timbers and give you a chance to show off your joinery skills. Structural screws assist the timber frame joinery in creating a super-strong structure. You can also purchase all of the fasteners at Timber Frame HQ! When you purchase this plan, you will receive links to download the files containing all the information you need for a successful build.  The construction set includes seven pages formatted to print at 11×17, with 3D drawings, plan and section drawings, and details to explain the finer points fully. The 20-page piece drawing set shows every cut you will make on each timber, fully dimensioned.  We include timber and connector lists to simplify the purchasing process.
