2027 North Navigator Gen2 Control System

Freeride • Big Air • Surf • Foil • Adjustable 38–55cm 2027 North Navigator Gen2 Control System A stronger, lighter and more refined all-around kite control bar with dependable safety, smooth trimming and customizable bar and line lengths. The 2027 North Navigator Gen2 Control System brings key technology from North’s premium control systems into a durable, intuitive platform for everyday kiteboarding. A new fiber-filled internal truss increases bar stiffness, while the updated wear-resistant grip and tactile finger reference make bar orientation easy to recognize without looking. The Connect V2 Quick Release, smoother cleated trim system, modular InterLoop connection and pre-stretched SK75 Dyneema lines create a versatile control system for freeride, big air, surf, foil and progression. Connect V2 Quick Release 22m SK75 Dyneema lines Adjustable bar width Toolless modular loops Smoother cleated trim Standard leash included Why Choose the Navigator Gen2? Dependable All-Around Control The Navigator Gen2 is North’s versatile standard control system. It delivers direct kite feedback, smooth power adjustment and dependable operation across freeride, big air, waves and kite foiling. Stronger, Stiffer Bar A new fiber-filled polymer truss strengthens the internal bar structure while keeping overall weight low. North reports a 20% increase in stiffness for a more precise and connected steering feel. Adjustable Width Each bar size offers 5cm of adjustment. Rotating the removable bar-end cassettes changes leverage and lets you fine-tune the turning response for different kite sizes and riding preferences. Customizable Line Length The included 22m lines separate at 12m. Replace the upper 10m sections with compatible 8m, 6m or 2m extensions to create a shorter setup for faster response, training or specialized riding. Connect V2 Safety and Release System Safe Connect V2 Quick Release The Connect V2 uses an extra-secure single-action reload design with a stiffer security finger. Its updated geometry is designed to reduce the possibility of accidental unhooking or an unintended release. Smaller Freeride Loop A smaller included loop keeps the connection compact and provides 20mm of additional depower travel. The security finger helps retain the loop when riding hooked in. Single-Line Flag-Out When the safety system is activated, the landing line is designed to travel through the bar and depower a compatible kite onto one front line. Always confirm correct routing before launching. Spinning Leash Attachment Ring The elongated oval leash ring makes the leash carabiner easier to attach. It can rotate to help prevent the landing line from becoming twisted after rotations or manual line unwinding. Safety reminder: Always inspect the control system, lines, leash and release mechanism before launching. Practice activating and reloading the quick release on land, following North’s current user manual and professional instruction. Navigator Gen2 Bar Size Guide Bar Size Adjustable Width North Kite Guidance General Character Small 38–43cm Kites under 8m Reduces steering leverage for small, fast-turning kites Medium 45–50cm Kites under 11m Versatile choice for medium-size kites and mixed quivers Large 50–55cm Kites above 8m Provides greater steering leverage for medium and large kites Selection note: North’s size recommendations intentionally overlap. Choose a narrower setting for slower, more controlled steering or a wider setting for quicker turning response. Always confirm the recommended control system for your exact kite model and size. How Adjustable Bar Width Changes Kite Handling Narrow Setting The narrower setting reduces steering leverage. This can keep small kites from feeling overly reactive and provides more measured steering input in strong wind. Wide Setting The wider setting increases steering leverage, helping medium and larger kites turn more quickly. It can also provide a more responsive feel for riders who prefer active steering. To adjust the width, remove both bar-end cassettes and rotate them 180 degrees before reinstalling. Make sure both ends are secured in matching positions before connecting a kite. Navigator Gen2 Technology Patented Multibore Tubing Symmetrical multibore tubing separates the internal lines and supports smooth landing-line deployment and reloading. The symmetrical design also allows the bar to rotate consistently around the center system. Comfortable Wear-Resistant Grip Triple-comfort rubberized EVA provides a secure, cushioned grip with improved abrasion resistance. A tactile offset finger bar lets you identify correct bar orientation by feel. Fiber-Filled Internal Truss Technology derived from the Navigator Pro reinforces the internal bar structure. The updated truss keeps the bar light while increasing stiffness for more direct steering feedback. 100% Dyneema SK75 Lines Strong, pre-stretched 1.8mm SK75 Liros Dyneema flying lines are designed for dependable load capacity, performance longevity and improved resistance to uneven shrinkage. Smoother Cleated Trim System An updated power bracket produces smoother on-demand trimming while reducing wear on the trim line. The circular cleat base supports consistent bar rotation. Ceramic Bearing A low-friction ceramic bearing makes manual line unwinding easier after spins and rotations. The standard Navigator requires manual unwinding rather than automatic line untwisting. Modular Toolless InterLoop The Connect V2 InterLoop system lets you exchange compatible loop styles without tools, allowing one control system to be configured for freeride, freestyle or a rope-harness slider. Accessible Line Inspection The modular line configuration makes it easier to separate and inspect individual line sections. Regular inspection helps identify abrasion, knots, uneven length or damaged sleeving before riding. Customizable Flying-Line Length Configuration Total Length General Effect 12m + 10m 22m Included All-around power, wind range and familiar kite response 12m + 8m 20m Quicker response with a slightly smaller wind window 12m + 6m 18m Faster steering response for specialized riding or stronger wind 12m + 2m 14m Short-line configuration for training and specialized applications The 22m line set is included. Compatible 8m, 6m and 2m line extensions are sold separately. Shorter lines reduce the size of the wind window and can significantly change kite power and handling. Frequently Asked Questions Does the Navigator Gen2 automatically untwist the lines? No. The standard Navigator Gen2 uses a ceramic bearing for smooth manual unwinding. Choose the Navigator Pro Gen2 if automatic line unwinding after rotations is a priority. Which bar size should I choose? North recommends the 38–43cm bar for kites under 8m, the 45–50cm bar for kites under 11m and the 50–55cm bar for kites above 8m. Check the recommendation for your exact kite model and preferred steering response. How long are the included flying lines? The bar includes 22m lines divided into 12m lower sections and removable 10m upper sections. Compatible shorter extension sets are sold separately. Is the Freeride Loop included? Yes. The Connect V2 Freeride Loop and a standard safety leash are included. Compatible Freestyle and Surf Slider loops are optional. Can I use this bar with another brand of kite? The Navigator is designed for North kites. Do not assume cross-brand compatibility, as line length, flag-out travel, front-line splits and connection geometry may differ. Verify every compatibility detail before use. How do I change the bar width? Pull out both bar-end cassettes, rotate them 180 degrees and reinstall them securely. Both ends must be set to matching positions before the control system is used. What is different for 2027? The 2027 Navigator gains a fiber-filled internal truss with increased stiffness, a more abrasion-resistant grip, SK75 Liros Dyneema lines, the Connect V2 Quick Release and a smoother updated trim bracket. Does the package include a leash? Yes. A compact North Standard Leash is included for hooked-in freeride, big-air, wave and foil riding.
