2024 Iris OG Burst

A division of Circle Strings in Burlington, Vermont, Iris Guitar Company is a small team of highly-skilled and seasoned luthiers who are dedicated to building modern instruments that capture vintage-inspired tone and aesthetics. Iris guitars are handmade using a combination of state of the art techniques and old-world craftsmanship The OG Model is where it all began! It's a smallish body with slope shoulders and a relatively wide waist. It has a comfortable 25” scale and an equally comfy C-shape neck. According to the 2019 review in Acoustic Guitar Magazine: ”Overall, it has a warm and dry voice, with an impressive midrange response. It takes equally well to being strummed with a pick or fingerpicked, in standard or open tunings, and it has a generous amount of headroom and projection.” This 2024 Iris OG (#1206) features a Burst finish and a Flower logo on the peghead. The combination of a Sitka top, Adirondack braces, and Mahogany back and sides deliver a rich, full-bodied voice with a punchy mid range. It packs nice definition for a mahogany guitar, and the feel is very responsive to your right hand. This one was ordered with a 1-3/4" nut width, which feels appropriate for this style of guitar. Plenty of room to stretch out, but not too wide that it holds you back.  This 2024 Iris OG has been played, and the satin finish has been rubbed shiny in some of the high contact areas, especially the back of the neck, the lower bout where your arm goes across, and the back along the waist. There are a few scuffs on the back worth mentioning (see photos). There is some general play wear to the pickguard and soundhole area, and the peghead has a few marks from capos/clip-on tuners. The end-pin has been drilled out for a pickup, but it's currently rigged with a StewMac NoJak end pin. If you'd like to add a pickup, this OG is ready to roll! The previous owner installed a tortoiseshell Waverly strap button on the neck heel.
