2023 American Eagle 1-Ounce Silver Proof Coin-S

Introduced in 1986, the now-iconic American Eagle Silver Proof Coins are collector versions of the official United States Mint American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins. Struck at the United States Mint at San Francisco, the classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman featured on the coin’s obverse has long been a collector favorite. Thanks to technological advancements in design and minting, these coins reveal some of Weinman’s original details that were not previously possible. The obverse (heads) features a refreshed depiction of Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. The United States Mint returned to its original historical assets to render a closer reflection of Weinman’s original vision that includes the addition of his traditional artist mark. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2023.” The American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coins bear the new reverse (tails) design introduced in 2021. To give the coins an added level of security, they are crafted with enhanced security features, including a reeded edge variation. The new reverse design features an eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to a nest. Inscriptions are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR." Each coin bears the “S” mint mark reflecting its striking at the United States Mint at San Francisco. To highlight the new design, the coin is encapsulated and placed in an elegant black presentation box adorned with the United States Mint seal, with an outer sleeve incorporating an image of the design. It is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity bearing an image of the refreshed obverse design.
