2022-P Roosevelt Dime: A Missing Reverse Clad Layer Error with Full Bands (FB) (309138)

Some coins are born from perfection, while others achieve greatness through their remarkable imperfections. This 2022-P Roosevelt dime falls into the latter category—a breathtaking example of a missing reverse clad layer error, certified as GEM MS65 with the coveted Full Bands (FB) designation by NGC. But this isn’t just any error—it’s a discovery coin, plucked from everyday change, proving that even in the most ordinary places, extraordinary treasures can be found. What sets this dime apart isn’t just its gleaming obverse, but the striking absence of its reverse clad layer. Missing clad errors are among the most sought-after modern errors, and finding one in such pristine condition, let alone with the FB designation, elevates this coin to a class of its own. Full Bands, a designation rarer than Full Torch (FT), ensures that the bands on the torch’s handle are sharply defined and unbroken—a testament to the superior strike of this coin despite its clad anomaly. To qualify for FB, a coin must first meet the standards for FT, making this dime not only an error piece but also a superbly struck example. Adding to its uniqueness, NGC aligned the coin within its holder so that the missing clad reverse is proudly displayed front and center. No need to flip the holder or guess at the nature of the error—it's there in full view, a gleaming example of minting gone awry but beautifully preserved. This thoughtful presentation makes this dime even more accessible and appealing to collectors who value both error rarity and visual aesthetics. The rarity of a missing reverse clad layer on a Roosevelt dime from 2022, particularly in GEM condition, cannot be overstated. It’s a modern marvel, a coin that slipped through the cracks of quality control and emerged as a shining beacon of rarity in a sea of perfectly struck coins. This dime stands as a reminder that even in today's high-tech minting processes, the unexpected can still happen—and when it does, it’s the collectors who reap the rewards. Whether you're drawn to its error, its pristine strike, or its historical significance as part of the Roosevelt dime series, this coin is a true numismatic masterpiece. A blend of rarity, beauty, and error—this 2022-P Roosevelt dime with missing reverse clad layer and Full Bands designation is not just a coin; it’s a story, a discovery, and a piece of history waiting to be claimed.
