2 Strand Ostrich Egg Shell Trade Beads

Handcrafted from genuine ostrich eggshell, this 2-strand grab bag features authentic ostrich shell disk beads that reflect one of Africa's oldest and most enduring bead-making traditions. Each bead is individually cut, shaped, and polished from natural ostrich eggshell, resulting in subtle variations in size, shape, and color that highlight their handmade character. Long associated with the San people of southern Africa, ostrich eggshell beads have served as personal adornment, trade items, and symbols of cultural identity for centuries. This assortment includes two strands of ostrich shell disk beads, making it an excellent choice for jewelry makers, bead collectors, and those interested in traditional African craftsmanship. Their warm natural tones and organic texture make them ideal for necklaces, bracelets, and other creative designs while adding a touch of history and authenticity to any collection. You are receiving two strands.  This strand is not intended to be a ready-to-wear necklace. Although the strand can be worn "as is," the string holding it together is not durable and may break with use. For this reason, we recommend that you restring the beads before wearing them. Strand Length: 27 inches (includes string/raffia) Bead Size: 8-16 mm diameter. See picture with ruler for size comparison. 156215
