1990 Cincinnati Reds World Series Ring

1990 World Series Cincinnati Reds Championship Ring, Executive Issue A genuine executive issued championship ring commemorating one of the greatest upsets in World Series history. In 1990, the Cincinnati Reds stunned the heavily favored, 103-win Oakland Athletics with a stunning four-game sweep, capturing the franchise's first title since the "Big Red Machine" era of the mid-1970s. Wire-to-Wire Champions Who Shocked Baseball Cincinnati led the NL West from the very first day of the season through the last, becoming just the fourth team in MLB history to go wire-to-wire to a title. Facing an Oakland club that had won 103 games and was fresh off back-to-back pennants, the Reds swept the Series in four straight, punctuated by Billy Hatcher's record-setting hitting streak to open the Series. Manager Lou Piniella's club proved that Cincinnati was the better team all along. This 10K gold ring, adorned with diamonds, was issued to a member of the Reds' front office staff — a genuine artifact from the organization's celebration of a championship few outside Cincinnati saw coming.
