Fantastic 1939 Indy 500 program. This program is in excellent shap. All pages intact and stapled in book. No tears or rips. 1 small blemish on rear cover. Ecellent opportunity to get a pre-WWII program!  The 1939 Indy 500 was won by Wilbur Shaw in a Maserati 8CTF, making it the first foreign car to win the race in 20 years. The race was marked by a tragic crash on lap 109 where reigning champion Floyd Roberts was killed after his car went through the wall following a collision with Bob Swanson's car. Bob Swanson's car lost control, and Roberts' car went through the wooden outer wall after making contact.  Other involved drivers: Chet Miller was also involved in the crash, his car flipping and catching fire. He survived with minor injuries.
