1800 Coconut Tequila 375ML

1800 Coconut Tequila 375ML is a coconut water-infused tequila made from 100% Blue Weber agave, bottled at 35% ABV (70 proof) in a 375ml format. First released in 2012, it holds the distinction of being the original coconut-infused tequila on the market — setting it apart from competitors that rely on artificial coconut flavorings. Quick Facts: ABV: 35%  |  Origin: Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico  |  Flavored Tequila (Coconut Water Infusion)  |  Distillery: La Rojeña Production & Heritage 1800 Coconut is produced at La Rojeña Distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco — one of the oldest operating distilleries in Latin America, established in 1812 and owned by Becle (the parent company behind Casa Cuervo). The base spirit is double distilled in traditional copper pot stills from 100% Blue Weber agave before being infused with fresh coconut water rather than synthetic or natural coconut flavoring extracts. This production choice gives the expression a lighter, more nuanced coconut character than typical flavored spirits, allowing the underlying agave notes to remain present. Tasting Notes Aroma: The nose opens with soft tropical sweetness and a gentle waft of fresh coconut. Behind it sits a foundation of sweet cooked agave, giving the aroma balance rather than one-note candy character. Taste: The entry is smooth and medium-bodied with immediate coconut flavor that stays restrained and natural. At mid-palate, the agave backbone emerges with subtle sweetness, keeping the profile grounded. The coconut integrates rather than dominates, reading more like fresh coconut flesh than sunscreen. Finish: The finish is moderate in length with a lingering sweet coconut fade and clean agave undertone. There is no cloying residue — just a pleasant tropical echo that invites the next sip. How to Drink 1800 Coconut Chilled or over ice is the most popular serve, letting the coconut water infusion come through cleanly without diluting the agave character. This expression also excels in cocktails: Coconut Margarita: Replaces standard tequila for a tropical twist that doesn't require adding separate coconut cream or syrup. Coconut Paloma: The grapefruit soda and coconut pairing creates a refreshing, beach-ready highball with minimal effort. Piña Colada Remix: Swap rum for 1800 Coconut in a blended Piña Colada to add agave depth that balances the pineapple sweetness. Best For Building a warm-weather cocktail menu without stocking multiple mixers Introducing tequila drinkers to flavored expressions that still taste like tequila Bringing a portable 375ml bottle to beach outings or pool parties Gifting someone who enjoys tropical flavors but prefers tequila over rum Frequently Asked Questions What does 1800 Coconut taste like? It delivers a smooth, medium-bodied coconut flavor with underlying sweet agave notes and a clean, subtly sweet finish. The coconut reads as fresh and natural rather than artificially sweet, owing to the use of real coconut water in the infusion process. How does 1800 Coconut compare to Malibu Coconut Rum? Malibu is a rum-based coconut liqueur bottled at 21% ABV with a much sweeter, more candied coconut profile, while 1800 Coconut is a tequila-based spirit at 35% ABV with a drier, more natural coconut character underpinned by agave. The higher ABV and agave base make 1800 Coconut more versatile in cocktails that call for real spirit backbone. Is 1800 Coconut good for cocktails? Yes — its clean coconut water infusion and 35% ABV make it an excellent cocktail base, particularly in tropical Margarita and Paloma variations. It eliminates the need for coconut syrups or creams while still delivering authentic coconut flavor. Where is 1800 Coconut made? It is produced at La Rojeña Distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico — one of the oldest active distilleries in Latin America, operating since 1812. The distillery is owned by Becle, the parent company of the Cuervo family's spirits portfolio. What foods pair well with 1800 Coconut? Ceviche with mango or pineapple, as the tropical notes complement citrus-cured seafood. Coconut shrimp mirrors the coconut infusion and creates a cohesive pairing. Thai green curry benefits from the agave sweetness cutting through the heat. Grilled pineapple or tropical fruit salads align naturally with the spirit's flavor profile. Light Key lime desserts echo the citrus-tropical character. What sizes does 1800 Coconut come in? 1800 Coconut Tequila is commonly available in 375ml and 750ml bottles, with the 375ml format being a convenient size for sampling or portable occasions. Is 1800 Coconut worth the price? It positions as a mid-range flavored tequila, priced above most coconut-flavored rum liqueurs but in line with other premium flavored tequilas. The use of 100% Blue Weber agave and real coconut water — rather than artificial flavorings — justifies its standing above budget flavored spirits in the category. Why 1800 Coconut? When 1800 introduced this expression in 2012, it created the coconut-infused tequila category outright. The decision to use fresh coconut water instead of artificial flavoring agents remains its most meaningful differentiator — the result tastes like tequila with a coconut accent rather than a coconut product that happens to contain agave spirit. Produced at La Rojeña, one of the most established distilleries in Mexico, the base spirit carries genuine pedigree before the infusion ever occurs. For anyone looking to bridge the gap between straightforward tequila and tropical cocktail culture, this expression does so without sacrificing the identity of the spirit underneath.
