The name Altea is not just a product name — it is a geographic declaration of Pikolinos’ Spanish identity. Altea is one of the most beautiful and most photographed villages on the Costa Blanca — a whitewashed hilltop town overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in the Valencian Community, the same region where Pikolinos has been handcrafting leather footwear since 1984. The Altea sandal carries that coastal Mediterranean spirit in its design, its craftsmanship, and above all in its two colorways. Black — Pikolinos’ premium full-grain leather in a timeless, universally flattering black finish that delivers a clean, polished elegance to the wedge sandal form, pairing beautifully with any casual, smart-casual, or occasion warm-weather outfit with quiet, authoritative style; the most versatile colorway in the Altea collection, as appropriate for a summer evening occasion as it is for a relaxed coastal day. Sandia — the Altea’s most exceptional and most distinctive colorway, and one of the most vibrant and most joyful colorways in the entire catalog. Sandia is the Spanish word for watermelon — and the Sandia colorway delivers exactly that: a bold, sun-drenched coral-red with the warm, juicy vibrancy of a ripe Mediterranean watermelon, a color that captures the heat, the color, and the unrestrained joy of a Spanish summer in a single leather finish. Sandia pairs beautifully with white and cream warm-weather outfits for a bold, high-contrast Mediterranean look that feels genuinely sun-drenched and joyful; with soft blush and dusty rose for a warm, complementary coral-pink palette that feels feminine and vibrant; with navy and cobalt blue for a classic Spanish coastal color combination that feels effortlessly Mediterranean; with natural linen and raffia textures for a warm, artisanal warm-weather look that celebrates the natural materials and bold colors of the Spanish coast; or with any neutral warm-weather outfit where you want a wedge sandal that makes a bold, joyful, unapologetically vibrant color statement. At $174.99, the Pikolinos Altea is the most geographically and culturally rooted sandal in the collection — the handcrafted Spanish leather wedge sandal that brings the warmth, the color, and the Mediterranean soul of Altea, Spain to every step of your warm-weather season. Pikolinos has been crafting premium leather footwear in the Valencian Community of Spain since 1984, combining traditional artisanal techniques with contemporary design and genuine all-day comfort to create shoes and sandals trusted by women worldwide for their exceptional quality and lasting style. The Altea is the most geographically inspired expression of that nearly 40-year Spanish leather mission — a women’s leather wedge sandal named after one of Spain’s most beautiful coastal villages, handcrafted for genuine quality, and available in two of the most distinctive colorways in the Pikolinos collection.
