Scheinman describes growing up as the son of a lifelong Jane Austen scholar, his duties as a grad student at UNC during the first Jane Austen Summer Program, and his experiences attending two AGM's. Along the way he talks a great deal about Austen's work, especially her Juvenilia and how it shows us so much about her interaction with the literature and pop fiction of her era. Highly entertaining and kindly insightful about Janeites. Scheinman has written for The New York Times, The Atlantc, Oxford American, The Paris Review, Slate, and other periodicals. And he may have danced with you at his first AGM, as gentlemen were in short supply and he was willing to oblige. Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Paper. NEW. $14.00
