Originally published in 1891 as part of the English Statemen series. Sir Robert Peel [1788-1850] twice served as Prime Minister and twice served as Home Secretary. Sir Edward Knatchbull held office under Peel as Paymaster of the Forces and as Paymaster General. Peel served during an interesting time of reforms. The names for police - bobbies and peelers - come from his name. This biography was recognized as excellent in its time. Light stains at top quarter of pages. Back board has been water damaged.
