Ancient Indian folklore and those of medieval Europe believed diamonds were thunderbolts that became lodged into the earth. Only a thunderbolt could cut into glass and other metals, thus the diamond became the Queen of the gems. Diamonds are thought to offer access to divine energies, stimulating and opening all the chakras; they promote truth, vision and alignment. Sterling Silver piece has been antiqued (darkened) to give contrast and an antique character. Antiquing will naturally weather with time, showing peeks of it's original color with wear. This is the intended effect.
