Wall, ceiling, or low-traffic floor compatible — one diffuser, multiple install scenarios. Multi-directional adjustable airflow — direct air left, right, both ways, or fully closed. TÜV Rheinland tested — lead-free coating, phthalate-free materials, Prop 65 compliant, and corrosion-resistant finish. Designed for modern interiors, engineered for comfort Replace your dated 12" × 6" louvered grille with a modern aluminum linear slot diffuser designed for clean architectural lines. This white surface-mount diffuser installs on walls, ceilings, and low-traffic floors, giving existing duct openings a cleaner, more intentional finish. White finish pairs naturally with white trim, light ceilings, painted walls, Scandinavian interiors, and light wood floors. Designed to upgrade, not to remodel For homeowners who want a modern look without contractor work, this diffuser is a practical replacement path. It covers the duct opening with a clean slot profile and installs with basic tools. Inside: heavy-gauge aluminum, a multi-directional adjustable blade system, and a powder-coated finish made for everyday residential use. Outside: a clean slot profile that looks more refined than a bulky stamped grille. Sizing Guide — Will a 12x6 fit your space? IMPORTANT: Measure the hole in your wall, ceiling, or floor — do not measure your old vent cover. This 12x6 aluminum vent cover is designed to fit a standard 12" × 6" duct opening (also listed as a 6x12 wall register or 6 x 12 vent cover). Duct opening size: 12" × 6" (this is what you measure) Neck size: 11-3/4" × 5-3/4" Overall face size: 13-3/4" × 7-3/4" Design note: Like all linear slot diffusers, this model has a narrower face panel than many traditional louvered grilles to achieve a cleaner, minimal aesthetic. It may not fully conceal the unpainted area left by an old AC vent cover — a light paint touch-up may be needed for a perfectly finished look. Quick check: Remove your existing vent cover. Measure the opening in the wall, ceiling, or floor — not the old cover. If the opening is approximately 12" × 6", this 12x6 linear slot diffuser fits. Designed for modern homes The 12x6 size is a common choice for master bedrooms, open living rooms, kitchens, and basement family rooms where the opening needs more coverage than compact registers. It balances airflow control, modern appearance, and retrofit simplicity. On the wall Replaces dated stamped-steel grilles in master bedrooms, open living rooms, kitchens, and basement family rooms. The clean slot line helps the HVAC opening blend into the room instead of becoming a visual distraction. On the ceiling Creates a low-profile look for finished ceilings, modern condos, kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. Use the included screws for a secure wall or ceiling installation. On the floor Works in low-traffic floor areas where a modern register-style look is preferred. For busy walkways or heavy foot traffic, choose a heavier-duty floor register. Premium Features No-plastic construction: Aluminum construction gives the diffuser a more premium feel than plastic covers and helps prevent cracking or yellowing. Modern surface-mount design: The face sits cleanly over the duct opening, making it ideal for retrofit projects and design upgrades. Comfort-focused airflow: The adjustable blade system helps distribute conditioned air more evenly across the room. Reusable and removable: The unit can be removed for cleaning, painting, maintenance, or future room updates. Tested Safe for Your Home: Independently tested by TÜV Rheinland across 4 safety standards — lead-free surface coating, phthalate-free materials, free of PBT toxic chemicals, and corrosion-resistant finish per ASTM B117 salt spray standard. 5-Minute Retrofit Installation Designed as a direct replacement for standard 12" × 6" duct openings with no structural modification required. On Walls & Ceilings: Mounts with the included screws through pre-drilled hidden side holes. Only a screwdriver and the included adjustment tool are needed. On Floors: Drop the cover into the existing opening in low-traffic areas. Optional screws may be used for extra hold. Fully Removable: The diffuser can be removed for cleaning, painting, maintenance, or future room updates. What size do I order — 12x6 or face size? Order by duct opening size. 12x6 means a 12" × 6" duct opening—the hole in your wall, ceiling, or floor. The visible face size of this diffuser is 13-3/4" × 7-3/4". 2. Why choose a linear slot diffuser instead of a standard grille? A standard grille is usually more visible and traditional. A linear slot diffuser creates a cleaner architectural line while still giving you airflow adjustment for everyday comfort. 3. Can I install this 12x6 vent cover on a ceiling? Yes. This 12x6 linear slot diffuser can be installed on walls, ceilings, or low-traffic floors as long as the duct opening measures 12" × 6". Use the included screws for wall and ceiling installation. 4. Does it include an adjustable airflow damper? Yes. The built-in adjustment bar lets you direct airflow left, right, evenly to both sides, or fully close the blades to reduce airflow into unused rooms. 5. Can this diffuser be used for both supply and return air? It can be used for supply air and many residential return openings. For high-volume returns or filtration needs, choose a dedicated 12x6 air return grille with pre-filter instead. 6. Can I use a filter with this linear slot diffuser? No. Standard filters should not be placed behind individual vent covers because they can restrict airflow and strain the HVAC system. Use a return grille with a pre-filter if filtration at the vent is required. 7. Is the finish paintable? Yes. The powder-coated finish is durable as shipped, but it can be lightly sanded, primed, and painted with standard spray paint for custom color matching. 8. Can this be installed outdoors? Yes, in sheltered locations such as covered patios, garages, and enclosed porches. It is not intended for direct rain exposure.
