Wall, ceiling, or low-traffic floor compatible — one diffuser, multiple install scenarios. Multi-directional adjustable airflow — direct air left, right, both ways, or fully closed. Quality-built aluminum finish — crafted for residential spaces where durability, clean looks, and everyday usability matter. Designed for modern interiors, engineered for comfort Replace your dated 12" × 2" louvered grille with a modern aluminum linear slot diffuser designed for clean architectural lines. This black surface-mount diffuser installs on walls, ceilings, and low-traffic floors, giving existing duct openings a cleaner, more intentional finish. Black finish works well with dark ceilings, industrial-style rooms, accent walls, modern lofts, black lighting fixtures, and contrast-driven interiors. Designed to upgrade, not to remodel This is a replacement-first diffuser, not a construction-only vent. It is designed to sit over an existing opening and deliver a cleaner finish with less visual clutter than a traditional grille. Inside: heavy-gauge aluminum, a multi-directional adjustable blade system, and a powder-coated finish made for everyday residential use. Outside: a clean slot profile that looks more refined than a bulky stamped grille. Sizing Guide — Will a 12x2 fit your space? IMPORTANT: Measure the hole in your wall, ceiling, or floor — do not measure your old vent cover. This 12x2 aluminum vent cover is designed to fit a standard 12" × 2" duct opening (also listed as a 2x12 wall register or 2 x 12 vent cover). Duct opening size: 12" × 2" (this is what you measure) Neck size: 11-3/4" × 1-3/4" Overall face size: 13-3/4" × 3-3/4" Design note: Like all linear slot diffusers, this model has a narrower face panel than many traditional louvered grilles to achieve a cleaner, minimal aesthetic. It may not fully conceal the unpainted area left by an old AC vent cover — a light paint touch-up may be needed for a perfectly finished look. Quick check: Remove your existing vent cover. Measure the opening in the wall, ceiling, or floor — not the old cover. If the opening is approximately 12" × 2", this 12x2 linear slot diffuser fits. Designed for modern homes The 12x2 size is ideal for long, slim duct openings where the goal is a narrow architectural line rather than a traditional grille. It works well in soffits, narrow walls, and design-forward areas where the diffuser should feel subtle and intentional. On the wall Replaces dated stamped-steel grilles in soffits, narrow wall openings, slim ceiling runs, and design-focused spaces. The clean slot line helps the HVAC opening blend into the room instead of becoming a visual distraction. On the ceiling Creates a low-profile look for finished ceilings, modern condos, kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. Use the included screws for a secure wall or ceiling installation. On the floor Works in low-traffic floor areas where a modern register-style look is preferred. For busy walkways or heavy foot traffic, choose a heavier-duty floor register. Premium Features No-plastic construction: Aluminum construction gives the diffuser a more premium feel than plastic covers and helps prevent cracking or yellowing. Modern surface-mount design: The face sits cleanly over the duct opening, making it ideal for retrofit projects and design upgrades. Comfort-focused airflow: The adjustable blade system helps distribute conditioned air more evenly across the room. Reusable and removable: The unit can be removed for cleaning, painting, maintenance, or future room updates. Built for Everyday Residential Use: Designed and crafted in Vietnam with attention to finish quality, durability, and practical usability for U.S. homeowners and contractors. 5-Minute Retrofit Installation Designed as a direct replacement for standard 12" × 2" duct openings with no structural modification required. On Walls & Ceilings: Mounts with the included screws through pre-drilled hidden side holes. Only a screwdriver and the included adjustment tool are needed. On Floors: Drop the cover into the existing opening in low-traffic areas. Optional screws may be used for extra hold. Fully Removable: The diffuser can be removed for cleaning, painting, maintenance, or future room updates. What size do I order — 12x2 or face size? Order by duct opening size. 12x2 means a 12" × 2" duct opening—the hole in your wall, ceiling, or floor. The visible face size of this diffuser is 13-3/4" × 3-3/4". 2. What is the difference between a linear slot diffuser and a regular vent cover? A linear slot diffuser moves air through a clean continuous slot instead of a visible louvered face. The result is a more modern look and a smoother airflow pattern for residential supply or return openings. 3. Can I install this 12x2 vent cover on a ceiling? Yes. This 12x2 linear slot diffuser can be installed on walls, ceilings, or low-traffic floors as long as the duct opening measures 12" × 2". Use the included screws for wall and ceiling installation. 4. Does it include an adjustable airflow damper? Yes. The built-in adjustment bar lets you direct airflow left, right, evenly to both sides, or fully close the blades to reduce airflow into unused rooms. 5. Can this diffuser be used for both supply and return air? It can be used for supply air and many residential return openings. For high-volume returns or filtration needs, choose a dedicated Green Vent air return grille with pre-filter instead. 6. Can I use a filter with this linear slot diffuser? No. Standard filters should not be placed behind individual vent covers because they can restrict airflow and strain the HVAC system. Use a return grille with a pre-filter if filtration at the vent is required. 7. Is the finish paintable? Yes. The powder-coated finish is durable as shipped, but it can be lightly sanded, primed, and painted with standard spray paint for custom color matching. 8. Can this be installed outdoors? Yes, in sheltered locations such as covered patios, garages, and enclosed porches. It is not intended for direct rain exposure.
