Colonial Hopewell Cast Iron Fireplace Fireback In Matte Black Finish

Make your fireplace more efficient and more attractive at the same time with the Colonial Hopewell Cast Iron Fireplace Fireback. A reproduction of a trademark design originated in Hopewell Furnace, Pennsylvania (a community once known for its early-American iron production and now a National Historic Site), it features a beautiful, intricate pattern cast in solid iron. Firebacks have been in use since early Colonial times to increase the fire's efficiency up to 50%. They reflect more heat into the room and radiate warmth even after your fire has died down. They also protect firebrick, increasing the life of the firebox and helping to prevent further damage to aging fireplaces. The Hopewell fireback is designed to rest right on the floor of the hearth, but fireback feet (sold separately) may also be used to hold it upright and raise it off the hearth floor for extra height. For wood or gas fireplaces. Heat-resistant matte black finish.
