Green Face peacock

The Saulosi Green Face Peacock Cichlid, originating from Lake Malawi in Africa, is a captivating addition to the cichlid family. Renowned for its bright green face and contrasting body hues, which can range from blue to yellow depending on the sex and maturity, this cichlid is a favorite among aquarists. Typically reaching up to 5 inches in size, they are relatively manageable for a variety of aquarium sizes. In their natural habitat, these cichlids inhabit rocky environments, and they thrive in aquariums that replicate this setting with ample hiding spaces and territorial boundaries. They prefer alkaline water with a pH around 7.8-8.6 and require stable, clean conditions to maintain their health and coloration. The Saulosi Green Face Peacock Cichlid is known for its engaging and somewhat assertive behavior, making it an excellent choice for a lively tank. It’s important to house them with other Malawi cichlids of similar size and temperament to avoid aggression issues. Their diet should consist of high-quality cichlid pellets, supplemented with occasional fresh or frozen foods.
