12 Constructions for Timpani is a collection of timpani etudes designed for percussionists to showcase a variety of skills in a short period of time. Each etude asks the performer to demonstrate a range of articulations, rolls, dampening, excellent time, musical phrasing, and more. Because performances in audition, contest, or jury settings are often on unfamiliar drums, the etudes do not feature internal tuning changes, making them ideal selections for these occasions. Drawings by Nick Tobier Engraving by Ancel Fitzgerald Neeley Specs: Score format, Digital Download PDF format (1 file), Intermediate to advanced level. About the Composer: Ian Antonio is a percussionist who specializes in the creation, development, and realization of new and recent musical works. He is a co-director of the composer/performer collective Wet Ink and the percussion ensemble Talujon, and for many years was also a member of Yarn/Wire and Zs.
