From back cover: "This play, a romance and comedy of errors, is replete with lively dialogue and close observations of the follies and foibles of her characters and the social classes to which they belong. A Busy Day, like Burney's fiction, looks back to the eighteenth-century novel, with its stock characters, and forward to the social concerns and observant heroines of nineteenth-century fiction. Although written in 1800, A Busy Day has not been published previously. Tara Ghoshal Wallace provides the first reliable edition of the play and places it in its historical and ciritcal framework."
