Expand Your Beekeeping Operation With This 10-frame Beekeeping Expansion Kit Our complete 10-frame beekeeping expansion kit comes pre-assembled. All you need to add is some paint and a package of bees. This kit is made up of the following components, listed from the bottom to the top of the hive: Screened bottom board Entrance reducer Deep brood chamber Medium honey super 10 deep frames with Acorn plastic foundation Inner cover Telescoping lid The screened bottom board is the base of your hive. It holds the brood chamber and super, and is ventilated for those hot summer months. The reversible entrance reducer allows you to reduce the size of your hive entrance. This is mostly done during winter or other periods of nectar scarcity. The brood chamber is where your queen will lay her eggs. Our deep brood chambers are made of heavy-duty yellow pine and will last for years. The honey supers are where your bees store honey for the winter. Our deep honey supers are also made of heavy-duty yellow pine. Our deep wooden frames are select grade and include Acorn’s triple-waxed plastic foundation, which is the best in the industry. Your bees will love it. The inner cover is insulated and keeps the bees from ‘gluing’ down the telescoping lid with propolis. The telescoping lid is the top of your hive. Its hardwearing construction makes it the perfect lid to protect your hive from the elements.
