1/4″ Spiral Compression Bit Standard Flute *AstraHP Coated*

Jonathan’s Hot Take: The perfect bit for when you need clean cuts on both the top and bottom edge of a workpiece. The upcut portion of this bit is .22” long (the short-flute version is .12” long). The new AstraHP Coating is HALF the thickness of the old Astra Coating… meaning a sharper tool and an even longer tool life. Even cooler, the coating is so thin that the reflection of the carbide in the tool creates a mesmerizing rainbow effect. AstraHP Coated Solid Carbide Tip Diameter: 1/4″ Shank Diameter: 1/4″ Length of cut: 1″ Spiral Change: 0.22″ Made in the USA These tools are coated with a proprietary high-performance *AstraHP Coating* that allows higher speed & feed rates as well as 4x the extended tool life & increased lubricity in abrasive material To get the full benefit of compression bits, make sure the upcut portion at the tip of the bit cuts below the surface of your workpiece. When used correctly, you shouldn't see any tear out or chip out on the edges — making it perfect for chip-prone laminates like plywood and melamine.
