1/4 BLACK PLUG

Overview The 1/4 Black Plug (31-1/4B) is designed for threaded pipe assemblies requiring a reliable seal on steam and water lines operating at working pressures up to 150 PSI. Specification Detail MPN 31-1/4B Brand PROSOURCE / Worldwide Sourcing Size 1/4 inch Material Malleable Iron Finish / Color Black Head Style Square Head Connection Type Screwed (Threaded) Max Working Pressure 150 PSI (Steam and Water) Weight 3.91 lb Category Hardware > Plumbing > Plumbing Fittings & Supports Technical Features Malleable iron construction — provides the structural durability required to withstand pressure cycling in both steam and water service applications. 150 PSI maximum working pressure rating — meets the pressure demands of standard steam and water distribution systems without risk of fitting failure. Screwed (threaded) connection — enables secure, tool-assisted installation into existing 1/4-inch threaded pipe ends, minimizing the risk of leaks at termination points. Square head design — provides flat wrench-engagement surfaces for reliable torque application during installation or removal. Black finish — consistent with standard black iron pipe system aesthetics and compatible with typical black pipe fitting assemblies. 1/4-inch pipe size — sized for use on small-diameter branch lines or capped outlets within a larger piping network. Applications Capping unused or temporary threaded pipe outlets on steam distribution systems rated to 150 PSI. Terminating open-ended water pipe lines in residential, commercial, or light industrial plumbing installations. Sealing 1/4-inch threaded ports on manifolds, valves, or pipe assemblies during system testing or permanent decommissioning of a branch line. Use in black iron pipe systems where fitting finish consistency is required.
