GrimmSpeed Front Mount Intercooler Bumper Bar Black - 2015-2021 Subaru WRX / STI

Protect the Intercooler — GrimmSpeed FMIC Bumper Bar for the VA WRX/STI The GrimmSpeed Front Mount Intercooler Bumper Bar in Black for the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX and STI is a direct-fit bumper bar that protects a front-mount intercooler installation from damage during low-speed impacts, parking lot encounters, and road debris. When upgrading to a front-mount intercooler on the VA WRX or STI, the intercooler core sits directly behind the front bumper opening with minimal protection — the GrimmSpeed bumper bar provides a structural barrier between the intercooler and the road without obstructing airflow through the core. Structural Protection Without Restricting Airflow The bumper bar is designed around the airflow requirements of a front-mount intercooler — the bar geometry provides impact protection at the bumper opening while maintaining the open airflow path through the intercooler core. The powdercoated steel construction provides structural rigidity to deflect debris and low-speed contact without being so rigid that it transfers all impact energy directly to the intercooler. It's a simple piece that solves a real problem for any VA WRX or STI running a front-mount intercooler. Bolt-In at Factory Bumper Mounting Points The GrimmSpeed FMIC bumper bar bolts to factory bumper mounting points on the 2015-2021 WRX and STI — no modification to the bumper, intercooler, or chassis. Compatible with GrimmSpeed and most other front-mount intercooler kits on the VA platform. Installation is straightforward with basic hand tools. Key Features Platform: 2015-2021 Subaru WRX / STI Protects front-mount intercooler from low-speed impacts and road debris Designed to maintain airflow through FMIC core — no restriction Bolt-in at factory bumper mounting points Compatible with GrimmSpeed and most other VA WRX/STI FMIC kits Powdercoated steel construction — structural impact protection Black powdercoat finish Fitment Notes Platform: 2015-2021 Subaru WRX / STI Requires front-mount intercooler installation — not for use with stock top-mount Compatible with most VA WRX/STI FMIC kits — verify specific kit clearances Straight From Subispeed The GrimmSpeed FMIC bumper bar is the purchase that seems optional until something hits the intercooler. A front-mount intercooler on a car that lives in the real world — parking lots, highway debris, the occasional low-speed contact — is exposed hardware. The GrimmSpeed bar adds meaningful protection for a small investment. It's also frequently overlooked in the build planning process and regularly regretted when it's missing.
