1/4" x 5/8" SC-1 Cylindrical Ball Nose Carbide Burr, Aluminum Cut

Aluminum cut burrs have widely spaced, single-direction flutes with a lot of chip clearance, and that geometry is the whole difference. Soft metals smear and weld themselves into a standard burr until it stops cutting and starts rubbing; an open flute throws the chip clear and keeps cutting. Use these on aluminum, brass, copper, magnesium, zinc and carbon fibre. They will cut steel, but a double cut burr will do it better and last longer, so keep the two apart rather than treating one as a general-purpose tool. This is the SC-1: a 1/4" cylindrical ball nose head with a 5/8" length of cut on a 1/4" shank. Surface milling and contour work.
