011489 InformaCast® Enabled Outdoor RGB (Multi-Color) Strobe

Description Now up to 38% brighter and upgraded to an IP66 rating, the wall-mounted InformaCast Enabled Outdoor RGB (Multi-Color) Strobe operates as a powerful and highly effective visual alerting device. In InformaCast mode, when an audio page is sent to the Strobe, a specific color, brightness and blink rate can be selected based on the priority of the page. The Strobe supports 10 InformaCast priority levels*. In the SIP mode, the device can be set up as part of a ring group or call group to give visual notification of incoming calls or pages. You can have the Strobe respond to message waiting signals by blinking. When the message has been heard, the Strobe stops blinking. The Outdoor Strobe may also be activated by being part of a multicast group. The Strobe can be configured with up to 10 multicast addresses and is activated when a stream is sent to its address. Users may also use CyberData's HTTP command set to directly access the Strobe's functions. *InformaCast v9.0.1 or higher is required to take advantage of this feature. FAQs What is multicast? IP multicast is a technique for one-to-many communication over a local IP network. IGMP multicast is sent via UDP packets from a multicast server to a multicast receiver. This stream scales to a larger receiver population by not requiring prior knowledge of who or how many receivers there are. Multicast uses network infrastructure efficiently by requiring the source to send a packet only once, even if it needs to be delivered to many receivers. The network replicates the packet in order to reach multiple receivers only when necessary. Multicast is a great alternative to SIP registration as it does not require that the recipient of the stream to register as an extension on an IP-PBX server. CyberData products support both regular IGMP multicast as well as proprietary Polycom Group Paging. I have a Cisco 6513 switch. When I plug in a CyberData VoIP device, the device constantly reboots and will not register to the SIP server. Please adjust the switch power selection to Power inline static, as opposed to Power inline dynamic. This will allow the device to continuously receive 15.4W of power. I have a Cisco Catalyst series switch. How do I set the unit so that it can use PoE (under 15.4w) instead of an external power source? There are known PoE limitations with third party devices on the Cisco Catalyst series switches. This includes the 2500, 3500, and 6500 series switches. It's important to keep in mind that CyberData devices are considered third party devices and require switch port setting adjustments. Be sure to turn power policing off if it has been enabled on your switch. Power policing is disabled by default. Also, configure your port for no shutdown. Use the following command to configure inline power: power inline static max 15400. What IP phones do you recommend for setting up a Peer to Peer with this device?
