Ḥayyim Hee

"Ḥayyim Hee" invites readers on a profound journey into contemporary halakhic (Jewish legal) questions concerning the status of women in our generation. In an era of rapidly shifting perceptions around gender roles and the status of women, a constant movement emerges between the aspiration to respond halakhically to present-day questions and a deep commitment to the tradition of Jewish legal rulings. This book sensitively and responsibly engages with this pendulum of life, offering an in-depth and balanced discussion on the delicate boundary between a changing reality and the world of halakha. Rabbanit Dr. Michal Tikochinsky approaches the task with gentleness, integrity, courage, and humility. In some cases, she presents creative and well-founded solutions that weave together tradition and innovation. In others, tensions are exposed that remain unresolved, whose value lies in the very ideological, social, and spiritual discourse sparked by the halakhic discussion. "Ḥayyim Hee" is written out of a dual fidelity: to halakha and to reality. It offers a grounded, sensitive, and respectful reading of the challenges we face today at the intersection of women and Jewish law. Available in Hebrew only
