Glance is an AI shopping agent. It learns a shopper's style and builds a personal feed of products across fashion, beauty, and home, and it runs on phones, connected TVs, and inside brand stores. Glance is backed by Google, Jio Platforms, and Mithril Capital, and is operated by a subsidiary of InMobi.
An AI shopping agent is only as good as the products it can recommend. Glance uses the Agora API to bring in product data from the stores it chooses, refresh that data every day, and check live price and stock the moment a shopper shows interest.
With Agora, Glance:
Adds new stores to its catalog with an API call, without building or maintaining its own crawlers.
Refreshes products, prices, and inventory for every selected store every 24 hours.
Checks the live price and stock of a product each time a shopper interacts with it.
Shows shoppers products that are actually available, at the price they will actually pay.
Keeps its engineering team focused on personalization rather than data collection.
Customer highlights:
8 million monthly active users shop with Glance's AI shopping agent.
12 million requests to the Agora API every month.
300 stores in Glance's catalog come through Agora, refreshed every 24 hours.
The Challenge
Glance's product is the feed. A shopper opens the app or asks for an outfit, and a group of AI agents puts together looks from real products sold by real stores. For that to work, Glance needs a very large catalog, and it needs that catalog to be correct.
Both are hard. Product data across the web isn't standardized. Every store formats titles, variants, sizes, and prices differently. Prices change throughout the day. Popular sizes sell out. A catalog that was accurate this morning can be wrong by the evening.
The cost of a wrong answer is high for an AI shopping product. If a shopper falls for a jacket and then finds it is sold out, or costs more than the feed said, they stop trusting the recommendations. Personalization doesn't help if the product behind it isn't there.
Glance could have built this data layer itself. That would have meant running crawlers for each store, normalizing their data, handling site changes and blocks, and keeping it all fresh at scale. That is a large, permanent engineering job, and it sits outside the work that sets Glance apart.
The Solution
Glance chose the Agora API as the product data layer behind its shopping experience. Agora indexes about 800 million products from 1 million e-commerce stores. The integration has three parts.
1. Select stores. Glance picks the stores it wants from Agora's directory directly through the API. Adding a store is a request, not a project, and it needs no help from Agora's team.
2. Daily ingestion. Agora recrawls every store Glance has selected every 24 hours, including store information, product data, and inventory. Glance ingests that data in bulk into its own systems, where its AI agents use it to build each shopper's feed.
3. Real-time checks. A daily refresh is good for breadth, but prices and stock change during the day. So when a shopper taps on a product, Glance calls Agora's real-time API to check the current price and availability at the merchant's store. The shopper sees what is true right now, not what was true at the last refresh.

This split is deliberate. Checking millions of products in real time, all the time, would be slow and wasteful. Checking only once a day would leave gaps. Glance does the heavy lifting once a day and saves real-time checks for the moments a shopper is close to a decision.
Because Glance runs this in production for millions of people, it works with Agora on an enterprise plan. That includes a dedicated account manager and an enterprise SLA with guaranteed uptime.
There is one more reason the fit works. Agora is independent. It holds no inventory, sells no products of its own, and takes no money from merchants for ranking. The data Glance receives isn't shaped by anyone's ad budget, which matters for a product whose promise is recommending what suits the shopper.
The Impact
Glance now serves 8 million monthly active users. About 300 of the stores in its catalog come through Agora, and Glance makes around 12 million requests to the Agora API each month.
Faster catalog growth. Glance adds a store by selecting it through the API. There is no new crawler to build, test, or repair when the store's website changes.
Accurate prices and stock. Every product a shopper engages with is checked against the merchant's live store before they buy. Shoppers run into fewer sold-out items and fewer price surprises at checkout.
Engineering time back. Glance's engineers spend their time on personalization, styling, and new surfaces like Siri and connected TVs, not on maintaining data pipelines.
"Agora enabled us to onboard thousands of leading brands instantly, giving our users a high-quality catalog that refreshes daily. We're excited to keep leveraging the Agora developer tools."

What's Next
Glance keeps adding new places to shop. In September 2026 it launched an experience for iPhone and iPad users through Siri AI, and its distribution partnerships put its platform on about 60 million devices, mainly in the US. As Glance expands into new categories and regions, it can select more stores from Agora's directory without changing how the integration works.
